For all of the beautiful homes, the heart of Ganei Ha’Ela will be the people who live in the community. If you are friendly and giving and share our values of dedication to Torah, Eretz Yisrael, and the Jewish people, then this is the neighborhood for you! A Va’ad Kabbalah (Acceptance Committee) will be set up to ensure that we have a cohesive community which is consistent with our vision.

  • Yossie (37) is originally from Brooklyn and Shira (36) grew up in Monsey. A YU–Stern couple, they made aliyah from Hillside, NJ in August, 2011 and currently live in Ramat Shilo.

    Yossie graduated from the Albert Einstein School of Medicine and is a Neuroradiologist, currently practicing with Radiology Associates of Ridgewood. After many years of working in the corporate world, Shira is now a stay-at-home mom for their six children, Avi (11), Akiva (9), Eitan (9), Dani (6), Rami (3) and Shani (1).

  • Born in Silver Spring Maryland, Yohai (36) came to Yeshivat Hakotel after high school and never left. After 3 years in yeshiva including 9 months in Machal hesder – Givati Brigade Yohai went to earn a BSc. in Technology Marketing & Management at Machon Lev Jerusalem College of Technology. Yohai currently works as a Product Marketing Manager at NICE Systems, Ra’anana.
    Yael (35) was born and raised in Shaarie Chessed Yerushalayim. After Beis Yaakov Yael went on to study Graphic design. Yael is currently a full time mom
    Yael and Yohai have been living in RBS for over 12 years. Noam (12) and Yisrael Reuven or ‘Sruvi’ (8) learn at Darchei Noam. Rachel (10) learns Bnos Beis Yaakov-Bnos Malka.

  • Yehuda (40) is originally from Washington Heights and Baltimore where he attended University of Maryland. He is a real estate developer and the developer of GaneI Ha’Ela. In addition to his professional endeavors, Yehuda volunteers as a consultant to numerous kiruv and charitable organizations.
    Chany (35) grew up in Brooklyn, NY and is a full-time home maker. The Fuldas made aliyah in 2006 and currently reside in Ramat Shilo with their 4 children: Donny (13), Adina (11), Avigail (9), and Avi (7).

  • Yehuda (39) and Ali (33) made aliyah in the summer of 2013 from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania together with their children Perri (13), Rafi (10), Rikki (7), and Gavi (4).
    Yehuda grew up in Monsey and attended Kerem B’Yavneh, Yeshiva University and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He worked as a pediatric anesthesiologist in Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh prior to aliyah and currently works in Maayanei Hayeshua Medical Center in B’nei Brak.
    Ali grew up in Toronto and attended Yavne Teacher’s College in Cleveland for seminary and has a degree in nutrition from Rutgers University. Ali currently does private nutrition counseling and professional makeup artistry.
    The Tuchmans live in Ramat Beit Shemesh.

  • Talia and Simi Sherman both hail from Silver Spring, MD. After studying in Israel at MMY and Shaalvim, they both received their undergraduate degrees from YU. They are currently living very happily in Ramat Shilo with their five children – Akiva, Nachshon, Penina, Ephraim, and Elisha – who attend Talmud Torah Moriah.

  • Rob and Aviva Shur (originally from Brooklyn and Teaneck) have been living in Ramat Shilo since their aliyah in 2011. They have 4 children-Tzachi (9), Shira (7), Bentzion (4) and Ariel (1.5). The older ones attend Moriah.
    Rob is a project manager for YU and Aviva is a freelance graphic designer.

  • Rabbi Gottlieb (42) grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, and after learning in Yeshivat Shaalvim he spent 10 years at YU, eventually earning semicha and joining the Wexner Kollel Elyon. Ilana (42) was raised in Staten Island and, after graduating the Yeshiva of Flatbush, went to Stern College, where she ultimately earned a Masters in Education from Azrielli and completed the coursework towards her doctorate.
    After 6 years in Congregation Shomrei Emunah in Baltimore, MD, the Gottliebs spent a sabbatical year in Israel and made aliyah in the summer of 2010. Rabbi Gottlieb is a rebbe at Yeshivat Har Etzion (Gush) and Ilana is the director of Midreshet AMIT.
    The Gottliebs have 4 children Eliana (18), Yaakov (16), Yosef (13) and Aharon (9).

  • The Heinbergs made aliyah from Brooklyn in July 2014 and currently live in Ramat Shilo. Adina went to Shulamith in Brooklyn and attended Michlalah and is now a postdoctoral researcher at Hadassah Ein Kerem, working to improve our understanding of the malaria parasite.
    Jonathan went to the Yeshivah of Flatbush and then to Gush and now works as a software engineer in Tel Aviv. Their children, Eliezer, 7, and Avraham Shimon, 5, attend Talmud Torah Moriah; Shalhevet, 3, can’t stop talking about her gan; and Aharon, 1, is chamud. They all love living in Eretz Yisrael.

  • Dovi (26) hails from Teaneck, NJ and attended Frisch High School. He then learned in Mevaseret for a year and a half before attending Yeshiva College. Dovi continues his Graduate school by attending Azrieli and Wurzweiler. Currently, Dovi is a Special Ed. Rabbi.

    Daniella (25) grew up in Cherry Hill, NJ. She attended Stern High School and learned in MMY in Israel before attending Stern College. Daniella earned her MA in Special Ed. at Fordham University and now works as a Special Ed teacher.

    Dovi and Daniella currently live in Ramat Shiloh with their two daughters Shoshana (1.5) and Shira (3 months)

  • David, (32) grew up in Queens, New York and attended MTA before learning in Hakotel and Sh’or Yoshuv. He earned his physical therapy degree from Touro College. Since making aliyah, David has been working as a physical therapist and a medical biller.
    Rachel (32) was raised in Teaneck, New Jersey where she attended Bruriah before studying in MMY. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Rachel works as the medical billing supervisor for a medical practice in New Jersey.
    The Krups have 4 children: Tzvi Chaim (7), Sarah (5), Yehuda (2), Batya Tova (9 months). Tzvi Chaim and Sarah attend Moriah. Yehuda is in gan and Batya is home. The Krups made aliyah in 2013 and live in Ramat Shilo.

  • David (31) was born and raised in Teaneck, NJ where he attended the Frisch High School. He then spent two years learning in Kerem B’Yavneh and continued learning at Yeshiva University. Meredith (30) grew up in East Brunswick, NJ. She attended Bruriah High School, followed by a year at MMY. She went to Stern College and then to UMDNJ where she studied Physical Therapy.

    David and Meredith made aliya from Passaic, NJ in 2012. David works for Amdocs, Raanana in the finance department and Meredith is a pediatric physical therapist working in Beit Shemesh and Jerusalem. They currently live in Ramat Shilo, Beit Shemesh with their 4 children (1 month- 7 years old). Their children attend Talmud Torah Moriah.

  • David and Aliza Wachsstock (ages 32 and 31) made aliyah in the Summer of 2015 from Hillside, NJ.

    David, originally from Passaic, NJ, works for Bank of America. Aliza, originally from Brooklyn, NY, has a Masters in Education from Montclair State University and is an experienced NJ public school Math Teacher. She is currently tutoring math and helping her three children; Yoni (age 6, Kita aleph), Liba (age 4, Trom Chova), and Orly (age 3, Gan) adjust to their new language and country.

    The Wachsstocks are thrilled to have made Israel their new home and iy”H are expecting their first “sabra” at the end of Summer 2016.

  • Danny and Risa have been living in Ramat Beit Shemesh for 6 and a half years. They have 4 boys Naftali (10) Gavi (8) Aryeh (6) and Rafi (3). The older ones attend Darchei Noam.

  • Daniel is 33 years old and lives in Ramat Beit Shemesh. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York and learned at Yeshivat Shaalvim for two years. He graduated from Lander College and New Jersey Dental School (UMDNJ). Daniel works as a general dentist in Yerushalayim and Ramat Beit Shemesh. He enjoys learning Torah, playing sports and craftsmanship.
    Michelle is 33 years old. She grew up in Queens, New York. She attended Midreshet Moriah for Seminary and Queens College. Michelle went to Wurzweiler School of Social Work and is now a licensed Social Worker. She enjoys shiurim, helping others, and raising her 5 children.
    Yisroel- Age 8 Talmud Torah Darchei Noam, Eliyahu- Age 6 Talmud Torah Darchei Noam Dovid- Age 5 Talmud Torah Darchei Noam , Ephraim- Age 3 gan, Ahuva Age 1.

  • Daniel and Alissa Chambré currently live in Ramat Shilo in RBS with their two children, Leah and Ahron. They made Aliya from Queens, NY in August 2014.

    Daniel (33) grew up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. He spent time learning in Sha’alvim and attended Yeshiva University. He studied dentistry in NYU and is now a practicing Dentist in Neve Daniel and Bet Shemesh.

    Alissa (32) was raised in Hillcrest/Holliswood, Queens. She attended Central, MMY and Stern College and earned her degree in Physical Therapy from Hunter College. She now works as a PT in a nursing home in Achva as well as privately in RBS.

    Leah (7) attends kitta aleph at Talmud Torah Moriah Banot and Ahron (6) attends gan chova at Talmud Torah Moriah Banim.

  • Betsalel (43) was born in London, England, and made Aliyah with his family at age 14. He went to high school at Netiv Meir, and upon graduating went to the Hesder program at Yeshivat Birkat Moshe in Maaleh Adumim, serving in the Golani Brigade, and then in combat reserves until his recent release. He earned his B.A. in psychology and Jewish history at Bar Ilan University, and is currently studying towards his MA in Jewish history and Jewish education. He is a licensed Israeli tour guide, and works at Ramah Israel in Jerusalem as a tour guide (all over Israel and in Poland), and serves as Director of Jewish and Israel Studies.

    Shoshana (42) was born and grew up in Staten Island, New York. She attended Bruriah High school, Orot Israel College, and Stern College, and received her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at Columbia University. She made Aliyah in 2000, and has been working since then as an occupational therapist at Alyn Pediatric Rehabilitation Hospital in Jerusalem.

    Betsalel and Shoshana met and got married in Israel. They live in Jerusalem with their five boys, Matan (13), Noam (11), Ariel (8), Eyal (6) and Nadav (3) – אם הבנים שמחה !

  • Avraham (37) was born in Yerushalayim, grew up in Miami Beach and learned under the guidance of Rav Yochanan Zweig.
    He made aliya and joined a hesder program. After completing serving in the IDF,
    Avraham earned a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and Bioinformatics at JCT – Machon Lev. Avraham currently works as a web programmer.
    Esther (34) was born in Canada, made Aliya as a baby and grew up on Moshav Matityahu.
    She went to Rav Baharan high school, did a year of Sheirut Leumi focusing on Special Ed., and later earned a B.S.N at Sharei Tzedek’s Nursing School.
    She is currently a stay at home mom.
    Avraham and Esther met and married in Israel and currently live in Ramat Bet Shemesh with 5 kids: Yehuda (11), Ayelet (8), Naama (5) and twins Hodaya and Avigail (3).

  • Avi (36) was born and raised in Staten Island, NY and attended Yeshivah of Flatbush, Hakotel, and YU. Since graduating from YU, Avi has been working in public accounting. Michal (35) was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and attended Yeshivah of Flatbush, Midreshet Lindenbaum, and Stern. After graduating from Stern, Michal earned an MSW from Wulzweiler and worked in private practice in the states for several years. She now has a private social work practice in Israel.
    Avi and Michal met in the Yeshivah of Flatbush and now have five kids ranging in age from newborn through 12 years old. Avi and Michal fulfilled their life-long dream and made aliyah in 2011 after living in Bergenfield, NJ for 5 years.

  • “We are looking to raise our children in a cohesive, Torah focused community which is centered around a single kehilla. Of course having the creature comforts of a comfortable home is important too. We’re looking forward to having the best of both at Ganei Ha’Ela!”

  • Ariel (32) grew up in the Five Towns, went to Mevaseret, did Hesder through Yeshivat Midbara K’Eden (Mitzpe Ramon) and Hakotel, and served in the IDF’s Golani Brigade. Upon completing Hesder, he returned to the States, earned a BS in Computer Science from Lander College, and started working as a programmer in the software industry.
    Estie (32) was born and raised in Brooklyn, went to MMY, and attended Stern College and Downstate. She worked for several years as an administrator in New York Presbyterian Hospital while simultaneously earning her MPA in Health Management from NYU.
    Ariel and Estie made aliyah in the summer of ’13 from Kew Gardens Hills to Ramat Shilo where they currently live with their children, Netanel (6), Yehudah (4), and Ayelet (1). Ariel is working as a software engineer at AOL/Verizon while Estie is seeking new employment opportunities.

Rabbi Dovid Gottlieb, the leader of the Ganei Ha’Ela community, is the former rabbi of Congregation Shomrei Emunah, a prominent synagogue in Baltimore, MD. In August, 2010 Rabbi Gottlieb and his family made aliyah to Israel, where they currently live in Ramat Shilo, a suburb of Ramat Beit Shemesh.


While at Shomrei Emunah Rabbi Gottlieb was known for his inspiring talks, numerous weekly shiurim, high energy, and strong leadership, as well as for his deep care and concern for every member.


Since making aliyah Rabbi Gottlieb has taught at Yeshivat Shaalvim, Midreshet AMIT, and Mercaz Tiferet, and has also lectured for Adult Education programs in Ramat Beit Shemesh, Yerushalayim, Chashmona’im, and Modi’in. He is currently writing a book on the Laws of Yom Tov for the OU Press and this coming year Rabbi Gottlieb is excited to be a Ram at Yeshivat Ashreinu, a new yeshiva in Beit Shemesh.


A highly regarded teacher, Rabbi Gottlieb has also served as a Scholar in Residence for numerous communities in the United States and Israel, and was one of the featured speakers at the recent Siyum Hashas at the Jerusalem Great Synagogue.


Rabbi Gottlieb received his rabbinic ordination from Yeshiva University (RIETS), where he was also a member of their prestigious Wexner Kollel Elyon. In addition to publishing numerous articles and co-editing two scholarly works, Rabbi Gottlieb is the author of Ateret Yaakov, a book of in-depth essays about a wide range of halachic topics.
